We have received word that the 5th District Court of Appeals did not reverse or otherwise rule on the Brevard County Tax Cap. Meaning that it will remain in place.
With the guidance of Legal Counsel the Union has moved on to the next step. We are in the fact finding and organizational steps to remove the self-imposed limit to county revenue. These steps include continued political relations with County Government, moving forward with our relations with other locals including fire departments, school teachers, and trade’s unions; as well as reaching out to special interest groups such as the Save the Lagoon and the Association of Realtors.
In the near future the Membership will be asked to participate in a few events. Most of the political events are picnics, conferences and helping with campaign signs.
Updates maybe slow coming over the summer but please feel free to offer suggestions or ask questions.
